Default tranny problems.. help..

recently i think ive destroy'd my throw out bearing(ordered a new one) , i hear clankin noise when ever clutch is not pressed. So anyway- i was planning on buying a new/used tranny(400) and installing it myself, cause the old one has 70k on it, while my engine has 3k.
my question is , would ne other tranny fit on my car? D17A1
Or can i have my tranny rebuilt stronger for the same price?

Unless you're going to rebuild your tranny yourself, i'd just get a new one. The EX tranny from 01+ should fit your car...the D17A2 right? That should have better ratios too (not sure on that tho)

no ur wrong.. ive read all ur posts...this has actually happend to my tranny once before. Honda rebuilt the tranny from top to bottem.. i had a list of over 20 parts they replaced...
i dont care what the problem is wit the tranny tho.. im fed up with this one.. i want a new one..
the D17A2 tranny is geared worse then my tranny. I have no vtec.. my tranny is geared better then an EX one.

all i wana know is that is there a tranny from another D series that would fit aside from a d17
or
can i have the tranny rebuilt stronger?

No, I'm not wrong. I had the problem, and stripped my transmission down myself and fixed the problem. The guys at Honda are the dumbest ********* in the world, I don't trust them with anything except the occasional mid-winter oil change.

And no, you can't have your tranny rebuilt stronger...just don't drive it like an *******. I've never heard of anyone destroying their tranny at 3k miles.
