Default Filter Choice

Picked up an Icebox and now I need a filter to throw in her. It's obviously between a K&N (RU-2820, or E-2427) or the Foam Comptech. The prices aren't really an issue, just want the best performing filter w/o sacrificing filtration.

Already searched and found too many subjective posts. Just want some good advice from past or current users. Thanks.

Ive had the RU-3130 for about a year in mine, no problems. I got it for like $29 at NOPI of all places.

By experience I advice to install the foam Comptech one. (Better performance)

Comptech and K&N are both good. Spoon probably will fit also but I have never seen it.

I've heard that the Comptech foam filter has less filtration than a K&N. Any warrant behind this??

The Comptech is a tad quieter if you care about that.

I've had the K&N E-2427 on and it did have more induction noise since it didn't "seal" around the back of the Icebox as well as the Comptech one.

The foam comptech doesn't even seal in the Icebox? That's pretty lame if true.

Read my post again.

The K&N didn't seal around the Icebox. The Comptech does because of it's air horn/velocity stack adapter.

what's the diff between the RU-2820 and the E-2427?

when i search K&N's site (kandn.com) for Integra all it shows is the 2427:
2000....ACURA....Integra....AUTO....1.8L L4 F/I....E-2427....Air Filter....All

well and it also shows a:
2000....ACURA....Integra....AUTO....1.8L L4 F/I....57-3509....FIPK....GS-R

but I don't know if that's an air filter... FIPK?

K&N takes a while to clean and you have to use thier product to clean it !
while comptech you can just use soap to wash it
