(tachnometer problem) Autometer Tach needle jumps past 10K Please Help
I have a autometer tac hooked up to a msd in a delsol with b18c. The needle jumps past 10k and stays there when i turn the ignition key on. It stays there then when i start my car and then just drive, it starts coming back down to normal. This happens out of no where and seem to do this time to time. What might cause this and how can I fix this? Thanks...
update: The needle on the tach doesn't come back down right after i start the car. It comes back down like 5min, 10min, 30min, or just whenever time it feels like it, and sometimes dont even come back down and just stays past 10k. And sometimes when im driving the tach needle would jump back past 10k out of no where for no reason. Please help...
I will try grounding the wire somewhere else...
Anybody else have any other suggestions or have this happened to anyone else...
Thanks...

is it a new tach? those autometer gauges break pretty easily if you touch the sender wire to something you're not supposed to touch it to, like a hot wire.
Brand new tach from autometer. I dont think i touched any other wire. Just installed it following the instructions.
