I was given a set of of 100W 9005 & 9006 hyper white bulbs, i fitted them and they are way brighter than the standard 65W ones i had in previous, i just concerned now that they may be too high a wattage for my cars stock wiring....are they. How can i use them safely? I've taken them out till i find out if theyre safe to use....anyone?
Dont be fooled into thinking they are brighter. standard 65 watt bulbs will put out more light than hyper white bulbs
they will either burn your wiring harness or burn the inside of your headlight around the reflectors. stay away from any hyper white lights

I have been using the 100W clear 9005 bulbs in my hi-beams for 9 years now and there has been no ill effect whats so ever (no melted wiring harnesses, no damaged lenses, nothing). I'm still using the original pair and they are extremely bright and they really light up the road.
i have used hiper white light and they are 100W .... no problem at all, and the wirings are fine
but, they blow out a lot, and have to buy twice as much as stock ... thats why just went back to stock lighting, and i think its clearer when i drive at night and especially when it rains

Yeah but if it actually draws 100W it WILL be brighter than stock.
High beams would probably be okay since normally you don't have them on for very long at any given time.
I would NOT use 100W low beam bulbs. You might deform the headlight housing or harness connector because of the heat, or you could possibly burn out wires or even the headlight switch on the steering column, since all the current for the headlights runs thru the switch (it doesn't use relays, stupid Honda
).
