How much would it cost to shave a 'Teg spoiler and the moldings? I wouldn't have to repaint the car would I? How much would it cost for a top knotch job? estimate please

 

tweny-fo dowzand bonez. no, kidding. I woudl have to say probably somewhere in the neigborhood of 300 - 500 for the body work, and around 4000 - 5000 for a good paint job. I honestly cant give you a good figure though, becuase I dont know much about body work.

 

Anyone who knows something about body work or had it done?

 

I asked a few shops around here and the cheapest for both mouldings shaved was 500 and the highest was 1.5k. Make sure you get plates welded in place of the holes, not bondo

$1500? Christ, that seems too much. Bondo is definately a no-no. $500 sounds like a good price.

 

yeah $1500, when I heard that I asked him WTF he did to make the price so high. Basically he said he would sand, weld the plates, paint, 2 coats of clearcoat, then buff. No color sanding or nothing. make sure you find out everything involved when you get it done, so that they don't do a hack job where the paint cracks in 2 years.
