I need a narrow seat
Can anyone make any recommendations on a really narrow seat? I'm a very skinny guy (like the "The New Guy" skinny) and I so far I have sat in the Sparco Corsa, Evo, Evo2, Pro2000 and Momo T Frame. From the measurements I've found online the Sparco Rev is the most narrow seat that spacro makes. And the Momo T Frame fits me pretty well, but it's a pretty inexpensive seat and I'm hesitant about its quality as a result. If you guys could reassure me about the Momo T Frame or the Sparco Rev or something else, I'd really appreaciate the input. Thanks.

Yes, the Sparco Rev is a pretty narrow seat. We generally recommend the Rev for drivers with a 28-33 inch waist. I actually have one (1) of the Revs (in black) on clearance...

I've got a 32 inch waist and bought a Kirkey Superspeedway? seat for the track. It is a tight fit, and they make tighter fits too. I found a racing shop that sold these and was able to sit in a few different sizes.
The Superspeedway? has extra reinforcements built in, and it's very stout. It's not Butler Built, but pretty good for track days.

The seat of choice for me is the Sparco REV. Spent a lot of time just sitting in it at OG Racing and decided the fit is perfect for 5'10-1/2" frame. I weigh ~149/34" waist. In The CRX it works great. Another feature is that it meets the FIA rules and is tagged so that one does not need a back brace. You can adjust thepadding if need be; trim shops are able to work wonders in that department and Sparco sells inserts for the bolsters as well. I did try the EVO and it is a nice choice-but not quite snug enough for me.
Again-the most imprtant thing you can do is sit in several different models. If this is a competition car like mine-take your race suit and helmet along and try it both ways. If a street/autocross/HPDE car then wear your normal stuff.

my *** has no experience in a real race seat, but the last issue of sport compact car has a write up on 50+ seats (race seats, not rice seats). it gives price, weight, etc., but it also reviews fit according to waist size (30,32,34,36,38). when i do get around to purchasing one, i will have this guide handy.

Second the vote for Recaro - I bought an SPG Racer and it is skinny. Too skinny for the poochy part that sticks out over my belt but that'll be gone before February drivers school.

You should also look into the Buddy Club seat. There's a big thread about them over in the ITR forum and they are even smaller than the Rev, by a good margin.

You and I are the same height and weight. Like I said the T Frame is the best fit that I've found but I have yet to sit in a Rev. None of the racers I've found so far have this seat.
I have the SCC issue with the seat fitments and IIRC the Recaros are not FIA so they aren't a viable option for me in the event that I choose to race.
Thanks for the replies. Ill look at the buddy clubs, etc.

I highly doubt that a recaro race seat is not fia approved.

I have a MOMO Rookie seat for sale, It is a little used, has a really small tear,if you are using it for a race car it will work good. Black! let me know how wide you can use, I will measure it for you. Price is $150 plus Shipping from Portland,Or 97266
i have momo rookie seats in my hatch and they fit very snug. im 5'11" and about 150 lbs. they are about as narrow as i like. with a 5 point harness i can not move a centimeter. my waist is about 32".
ive sat in some lower model sparco seats and the quality of them was absurd. they remind me of playschool "my first race seat" or something. make sure you buy a quality seat and if you have the chance, go and sit in them before you buy them.

I have Recaro SPG's. They are the best seat you can get in the 800 dollar a piece range. Great quality and comfort. Very light weight.
Yes they are FIA approved. The only recaros not FIA approved are the reclineable models, but FIA is only for fixed back seats.

The Recaro SPG is small but still kinda large for me. If you're really tiny, like me, go with the Cobra Suzuka. It's very narrow and has great side support for your thighs. Anyone with a waist bigger than 32" won't fit in it comfortably. I'm about a 28-29 waist and it fits me perfectly. It's not expensive either, about $650 for just the seat.
