Default Question? Help me Out For some of u guys done the S2000 Start Buttom!!!!

i just e-mailed the Honda Service part and they told me that " The cost for the Start Button is $88.73 less the 10% internet discount plus any applicable taxes and shipping charges. I have to let you know though, that we can not install it for you. " this is in Honda Vancouver B.C Canada so if i bought the start buttom i can go to the car shop and install it ? or what other stuff do i need ? Thanx

talk to Ben Tang on this board... He can tell you where he got his installed.

I wouldn't pay over $30 us for this part btw...

try ahmotor.com for better prices...

Yeah, I thought you might've meant canadian $, so I guess that's about right... I dunno exactly what the exchange rate is.

Ask Ben Tang where he got his installed...

HMMM... I would think if you check the color code on the wire to your starter selenoid and find it under your dash this would be a simple splice/install...

What am I missing here?

You will burn up the switch in the button if you wire it up directly. You need a normally open relay wired in with the button.

He's correct....I didn't do the install of my S2K button, but I do recall there being a 'relay' involved!

Yup - an "N/O" or normally open relay is needed to keep your button from burning out. Also - since you will not get any wiring diagram with the button, it will be helpful to know what the pin layout is...

- looking at the back of the button with the female connection slot facing down(5 pins going left to right) the first 3 pins are for lighting of the button (your dimmer switch uses 3 leads).

- The last 2 pins (farthest right) are the in/out for your actual switch. These are the 2 that you need to connect to your relay to provide the 12v bump that causes the larger signal to your starter.

Hope this helps - I'll be providing a full How-To on Bseries in November.

I've got mine but don't trust anyone to install it. It just sits in the box and looks at me...
