Patience Grasshopper. When you can ****** the pebble from my hand, it will be time for the rules to be out.
If you are old enough to remember the first run of this show.....you are old. I am talking about the original, not the one with his son.
Seriously though, we have been hard @ work on the 2004 rules. A lot of constructive discussion & cooperation have gone into this rule set. We should be able to post them soon.

Esteemed Master Mike:
We're going to need back-to-back Laguna/Thunderhill or Laguna/Infinion late summer dates if the NW guys are going to be hauling down....
Let us know what you come up with.
It seems that TC will probably decline THills invite next year...

Dear Mr. Bulldog,
It seems that Laguna dates are very hard to get. I will see what I can do. How about a Thunderhill/Infineon combo? If we can't get a combo, perhaps we can get you guys out for NorCal/SoCal/NW event @ Infineon. If you haven't driven Sears Point (Infineon), you are definitely missing out.
Respectfully Yours, Civicrr

As a front runner all season and a major player in H1 Next season I feel a little left out... Constructive discussion & cooperation with whom??? Neither myself, my team owner, and as far as I know, any of my fellow competitors in H1 have been asked for any input of constructive suggestions or criticism as to the new rules for 2004? Are we to assume that the rules for our class are being decided by those who don't actually run in the class or worse still... Don't race at all?
We as a team, Special Projects Motor Sports are poised to make quite an impression on Honda Challenge next season (Depending on the rules) and bring a new level of professionalism and competition to the series. We will be running at least two, and possibly three very competitive cars with the top three drivers in H1.
We are only interested in H1 So I don't want to ruffle the feathers of those in H2,H3,H4 etc. I'm sure you all have issues of your own to think about. Speaking for my fellow H1 competitors, It would have been nice to be at least consulted on what is likely to be in the rules before they are set in stone...

Jeff,
Take it up with your region rep. As always, concerns can & should be, directed towards that individual.
As a seasoned racer, you should know that November is way to late to start trying to figure out stuff. Rewrites actually got started quite some time ago. We have been listening, accumulating, etc opinions & comments all season long. Did you think Ryan, Karl, Alex, John & I didn't pay attention to the different boards & talk in the paddock (across the country)? I believe you will like the rules.
Please believe that what has been worked on by the different regional series leaders (together) has been with the competitors in mind. We have tried to do what is best for the racers & the series.
Trust me, there ain't no glory in being the point man.

I'll back up what Mike said.
The final draft, ONE true 2004 National Honda-Challenge rule book is almost finished. This process has been ongoing for more than 3 months.
Kiwi- Tons of notes/ requests from racers went into the new rules. Data was gathered via e-mails, web-debates, race results and consulting top Honda-tuners. These took along time and my guess would be more than 100 e-mails were sent back and forth a long with a couple conference calls.
Frankly- the 'few' new rule changes will not please everyone. You will not see wholesale changes from the 03 National rules...... there are a few adjustments and additions that will make up the new 2004 rules.
The new rules 'should' be posted within a week.
edit- Consult your local region for H-C schedule. The Va. schedule (ECHC) will also be posted shortly!

Thanks Guys...
Were looking forward to the publication of the new rules.
Sorry if I sounded impatient, but we have decided to really go for it next season. We will then be stepping up to a possible World Challenge campaign in 2005. If the H1 rules are as open as we hope? you should see some very exciting cars next year.

you will not be able to build a competive bottomend for world challenge with the new 04 rules....since you won't be able to use aftermarket rods or pistons...
well at least i don't think you will be able to....not reliabily anywyas...

I wouldn't mind driving up to Portland at all, if it meant getting getting one more event with the NW guys. I like the fact that people run H5 cars there. It means I get to play too.

Well if Team Lock is going to go up with their cars, I guess we will just have to tag along as well!
Greg, James, Jim, Curt....what say you? Want to run a series next year?

I can make some inquiries to CSCC (Cascade) who runs the races at Portland and see if a special race group could be had for a race up here... I bet we could entice more of the Honda club racers to participate.
Our schedule should be completed shortly. Let's keep talking.
