I had a Field unit in my ITR that took a crap.( You guys helped me narrow it down to the Field Thanks) About once a month the car would mysteriously bog like it hit a fuel cut-off at around 5000rpm. The last time was on a road-course in the S's, almost spun the car into the swamp (literally). Removed Field, problem gone. I have a the Jumper Harness for the field controller so I didn't have to tap into the wiring. Question is: Does the APEX unit use/tap into the same wires as the field unit did? I would like to continue using the expensive a$$ harness if I buy the APEX unit.

I believe the harnesses are different. I don't think you could use the V-AFC with the fields harness (even if you splice the V-AFC into the harness, I think the wires may be different).

However, I am not sure, but I think I remember someone saying this.

 

I want to expand on something, Its a jumper harness. It plugs in between the ECU. and the factory wiring, about 8 inches long. It has all of the wires the factory harness has but the ones the VTEC controller needs have Male and female connectors to you can just plug the wiring from the Field unit into it without cutting wires.

 

yes, you can use the Field's harness with the V-AFC

 

it is not suggested to "extend" the wiring. try to get a new harness. also, the two units use different harnesses. match up the wiring diagrams and swap the apex harness over.

You can use the Field harness, I'm using one now with my vafc. I soldered all the wires though. You will need to cut a couple of wires and some wires won't be used such as the speed sensor. Not totally plug and play but it's better than having to mess with the factory wires.

It says Options Auto might be able to get it but I was hoping for something closer to the East Coast.
