ok heres the deal im only 16 and this is my storyabout my first car, about 3 months ago i began by buying a 95 prelude se, i love the style and the # of mods while still being different than the average civic. i wanted to start by getting some boltons but i had bills to catch up on. as soon as i had 2200 for the jdm motor the clutch master cylinder gave out. minus 200 dollors. then a couple of weeks later my tranny went out costing me 2500 that i still owe to my parents plus a 3300 car loan. now on aa 130000 mi motor i sliped a rod bearing. so far i dont know if the rod has been damaged but my auto teacher said to get a oversized bearing then sell that car. if i do the labor my self it will cost 40 bucks not bad exept for i have to sell the car. i cant stand the site of a non import sports car. and any decent one will coast me 4000. if anybody would like to take it off my hands for around 7000 please contact me at 480 221 7292 i live in mesa az and please no prank calls. please leave a voice mail. so 7000-4800 is 2200. looks like ill be bumming a ride since i make 6.75 an hour bussing tables. till i can make a little more money. this time ill pay cash. hopefully ill get another lude!! thanks everybody
that quick fix of a larger bearing and pawning off the car:
#1. probably won't work. Honda's are very unforgiving as far as clearances. Remember, this isn't a small block 350.
#2. it's just plain WRONG. You're selling someone a nightmare KNOWINGLY.
Suck it up and find a crank and rod. Build it the right way and bide your time till you can get that H22 you want.

why would you spend 2500 on a new tranny for your old motor when you can get the complete changeover H22 for 2200........wtf? did i miss something?

Yea man, you already made some bad decisions with the car....especially that tranny situation. I would have pulled out my JDM M2B4 with LSD and sold it to you and even installed it for you for less than that.
Are you still driving the car?
I'll look at it friday, but if you want me to check it out before then I mgiht have time, I sent you a PM with my cell phone number.
I got a crapload of car work to do this Sunday (timing belt conversion and valve adjustment), so it'll have to be before then if you need some help with it.

Might not even be worth it man. Your crank is probably already almost garbage. The only thing you'd possibly need is one H23 rod since you'll have to use oversize bearings. This is considering the crank is still useable.
BTW - Are you even positive its the crank? Call me later, I could drop by if I have the time. 480-206-3797

no im not sure it the problem but 3 people have listened to it with dowls and stethescopes and thats what the say. im really busy today but friday im open and then the whole weekend i no you said you had to do something on the weekend. ill talk to you on friday. ill be out there all morning. all my tech classes are in the morning. if it is my crank how much do you think that would be.
I just went and signed up for the show so I'll see ya there at 7:30.
If its your crank you are better off to buy a longblock, or shortblock if you can find it, and swap it in. Its not worth it to rebuild that old one when you can get a longblock for 1000ish (H22). Do that and part out what is left of the h23 and you might only end up $700 in the hole and have a faster car.
