Steelies
Are there any advantages or disadvantages for using the CRV steelies over the Accord or Odyssey steelies? I am about to purchase CRV steelies, but I was told that I should stick with the Accord or Odyssey steelies. Any insight? Thanks a bunch.

i don't think i've seen you ask many questions. they're usually answers.

Does any one know why 929 and millenia wheels are so light.
Doesn't it seem strange that 2 cars that people didn't boast about performance wise would have such light wheels?

I would imagine that the Millenia and 929s are light because the cars are heavier. Say Mazda needed to save weight somehow, so the wheels were made lighter...don't know if that actually makes a difference or if that is really why they are light, but I do feel like I logically thought something out today

i'd probably go with the mazda wheels as well, but the CRV steelies are cheap and are just winter beaters. i am looking to pick some up really soon for a good price.

right, but can you think of a disadvantage of getting the CRV steelies over the Ody steelies? just to have an extra set of crap rims laying around of course.

just get the right size wheels for your application
who cares...they are steelies

true, but i don't want some steelies crapping out on me because i didn't ask around prior to purchasing. i called a local honda/acura junkyard and they said to stick with the odessey or accord steelies over the CRV's so i was being precautious. at this point however, i don't really care because i am getting the CRV steelies at a good price.

It depends...
if driving in snow -> narrower is better
if driving over ice -> wider is better (contact patch matters)
but, the original poster of this message lives in Seattle. When is he gonna see snow? Going up to Crystal/Stevens/Whistler ??? If he needs winter rain tires for Seattle weather, I would recommend kumho Ecsta 711 or S-03.

hey, thanks for the input. everybody for that matter, but i was just wondering about the rims. they're not for snow, but just winter beats because i have azenis on my stock rims and IMHO they're horrible in rain. i am going to get the kumgo ecsta 711 as well.
