Default Can wheel bearings just "go" ?

A little OT, not about an integra, my gf's car got broken into, brought it in to the dealer, a week later we pick it up and the bearings sound like hell. We had to bring it back due to a problem with the repair of the break in (window seal) and they are now really concerned with the bearings (claim they can't hear the wind noise over the bearings)...

Is this possible for wheel bearings to just go out to lunch like this?

its possible, but it would have to be put under alot of pressure before it "goes". i know someone who drove their car for months with the bearings shot like crap before it got fixed.. it was pretty loud. too.

The car was perfectly fine, we drove it in with no sounds, 8 days later we pick it up and it sounds like hell. Its 2-3 years old, with like 22k miles on it...

Yeah take it back, sounds kinda suspecious. Ther are a lot of hacks out there who try to take advantage of customers. Especially when it only has 22k miles. I've heard of shops racing customer cars when they're not supposed to and i think it doesn't matter even if its a dealership.
