everytime I turn the ignition it just makes a click sound, and doesnt even try and turn over. I thought it might be the battery, but the other electronics in my car seem to work... any help would be appreciated. thanks

 

It's the battery if it makes rapid clicking when the key is turned.

There's not enough amperage to start the car. However there's enough 12v power to run accessories for a bit.

then I need a new one. I was thinking about maybe a light weight battery.... or if that was just a waste.

 

i'm sure you can jump start it for a while right?

 

That sounds more like your starter since all your electrical stuff is working. Have it checked.

yea, try and turn the key and start it like 5-10 times in a row really fast, if it starts then its the starter.

 

This just happened to my friends spec v. His starter broke and it sounded just like you explaned. So im guessing its the starter.

 

make sure all your ground wires are connected. when u try to start it and it goes "click" it could be that the battery is dead or the starter is messed up. try a new battery from friends car or somthing, or even easier, hook a volt meter to it and check to see how many volts it has. 12 is good!
