Best mods for GSR to run mid 14's
Can somone tell me what my best options are if I want to run mid 14's with my gsr engine (it's going into my 94 rs) I don't want turbo, just built up a bit. I also would like to up my redline to match my jdm itr gauge cluster (not to mention I am horny for a high reving
engine), but in doing this I don't want to throw my engine out of wack. Can somone tell me how I can best achive my goals and still have a clean running, properly tuned engine that will last as long as it should? Also as far a tuning the car after mods, I don't have access to a dyno, will chipping my ecu give me what I need? Thanks guys any help will be really appricated.

Take off the head, get a port & polish, upgrade the valve springs and retainers, get a decent set of cams, and install a skunk II intake manifold. If going into the bottom end, slot peen your rods, get some arp rod bolts, and replace the pistons with something higher compression, maybe around 11:1.

Tru dat. Depending on how much $$ you wanna spend, you can hit mid-14's without changing out your pistons/rods. Reworking the block just isn't worth the $$$ with a GSR unless you're aiming for freaking 12's or something. Just spend $700-$800 on a good port&polish and get some better cams/valve springs/retainers and you'll run 14's all day. Upgrading your head goes a little further than bolt-ons, but keeps it simple.

Quik has the right Idea. The headwork(P&P, cams, springs, retainers and maybe some valve guides) will give you a VERY nice gain and enable you to rev as high as you want (depending on how much you spend). Don't cheap out and get shitty cams because all of the other work and parts in the head with not be used to their fullest. As far as a chip you need to do some research on what cam is going to work best for your goals and goes along with whatever cams you get. Other than that some good bolt-ons and good suspension/tires will get you there pretty easily. Plus you will still have a reliable car.

you wont need much more than bolt ons and maybe a little weight reduction to hit 14's. but a mild set of cams and upgraded springs and retainers with a raised rev limit will get you there with out the weight reduction.
what altitude are you also? if you are over 1000 feet, you might need a bit more to hit your goal.

what the rest of em said.
at most, i would say boltons, loose the ps belt, maybe some light weight wheels as well, and your well off imo. even without an interior weight reduction.
