Default gm synchromesh vs redline

part #12377916, gm synchromesh friction modified had aweful 3rd/4th gear grinding and couldnt use 1st gear half the time (this was with REDLINE!! which SUCKED!!!) gm synchromesh makes 1st gear a breeze, and all the other gears nice and smooth with no 3rd gear grinds. very very satisfied with this stuff sorry, just happy, had to share

I also give it

I had about 15K on my Honda MTF and it came out looking almost new when I drained it. But I figured since I was going to have my car on a lift and could get the Synchromesh for cheap, I'd give it a shot.

My current setup as far as shifting is: generic short throw (same height as stock, very short throw), ES bushings, stock shift ****, GM friction modified Synchromesh. I must say, it's a joy to drive every time I shift gears.

uhh well you do have to change tranny fluid, just like engine oil... just not as often. I've been changing mine every 15K-20K miles.

GM syncromesh friction modified

I put it into my ITR tranny with 4.785 FD and Kaaz LSD. Any noise or anything else went away. It shifts perfect into every gear and even into first while moving. I would suggest it to anyone. I am about to sell my tranny setup because Im going turbo and need a GSR tranny with lsd. But ill still use the GM syncromesh FM, it worked wonders. I heard change your tranny fluid every 2nd oil change. So around 6k. I let mine go about 5-6k. If you like your car, treat it like you would want to be treated. Change it as often as you can (5k-15k), to keep the life of your tranny.....

That's a little over the top, like I said I drained my Honda MTF after only 15K miles and it still looked brand new. But hey if you can afford $10/qt. every 6K miles, more power to ya.
