Default Is the RSX base model a good all around car with decent power?

Ok I have a 94 integra ls 5 speed right now but want something newer. I was looking to get an 03 rsx base model. Reasons for the base and not type s is b/c im only 18 and insurance would be more on the Type s and it cost a bit more. Anyways would a 03 rsx have about the same power as my ls and are they a good all around car. information/specs on it would be appreciated.

Base RSX is a decent car - take a look at Acura's
website or caranddriver.com, should have plenty of specs/times there.

but if you're looking at that, you might want to
consider the Civic Si. Same engine as the RSX
base model, cheaper (you can get one for ~15-16K), it's a hatchback (more room, easier to
store stuff), etc.

base rsx is good, it makes the same torque as the type s
but my guess is u will have that for a while then you'll wanna upgrade
to the type s, so, u might as welll spend the extra cash now and get
what u really want.

yea what he said, in the long run you're probably gonna want the extra power! just my 2 cents.

wait and save up more. your teg is still a good car. if you really cant wait, go with the EP3, itll be a bit cheaper than the RSX. but if you have your heart set on an RSX, the base is a good car also.

RSX weighs more than your LS, 200ish lbs
160 hp
130ish lbs tq
mid/high 15s - low 16's stock 5sp

i have heard that the RSX leather isnt too great.
the steering wheel in the RSX/Si is awsome, great feel
Seats in general are much more supportive than the teg
you'll sit a bit higher in the RSX/Si than the teg
interior and overall feel of the RSX/Si is a lot more solid IMO
there are very few problems in general with each car

Hmm. A local rsxer. You will be very happy with your purchase bro. Remember to watch out for those 3rd->4th gear shifts. Avoid 2nd!!!!.lol
Well if you see my car out on the road say whats up, and trust me you will know its me. Just look for a white RSX-S with type R rims, Type R body kits, Type R carbon fiber front lip, carbon fiber hood. Just look for the "TEIN" emblem where the type S badge should have been. Well good luck bro

i've had a base RSX as a loaner before. nice car, very suitable for daily driving and a few trips through the canyons. i would upgrade the suspension a bit and lose some of the weight (if its possible anymore). otherwise, you'll be ok. i would rather have the EP3 though, i just like the styling and that type of hatchback. plus, the interior is not like many other honda products. and i prefer cloth over the cheap leather they offer. maybe i'm a little spoiled when it comes to leather.

RSX, base, 5-spd manual
2694 lbs
160 hp
141 lb-ft torque

Also you are not looking at mid-high 15's with that car. Lowest I have seen any go in stock trim were 16.0-16.3

No, he was correct regarding stock 1/4 mile times. The fastest stock time was a 15.6 I believe and there have been a few 15.7's and 8's. Slips are on Clubrsx somewhere. Stock traps are around 88mph.
