i went to switch from 1st to 2nd gear and when i got into 2nd my rpm's dropped to 0, and i pressed the gas and it did nothing so i turned it off and now it won't start again..........what happend?

 

ignition switch recall. describe your situation a little more.

 

ok........i was racing on the interstate.......i got off and was driving on side streets, it was fine........not too hot, nothing like that.........then i stopped at a light, and as i started back up i was in first til about 6500 rpms......switched gears and the rpms just dropped to nothing, i hit the gas, it did nothing....i pulled over and turned it off..checked everything out....tryed starting it and it won't.....it turns over and every thing....just no fire.................u think i blew it up?

 

Maybe the timing belt broke??
It would help if you told us a little about your car. Year, make mileage, maintenance, etc...

just finished the swap about 2 months ago
i noticed something had leaked out of it when i pulled out of the garage, i think it was power steering fluid..cuz i took that out the night before
i was driving it hard for about 3 miles on highway, but didn't redline it.......temp didn't get too hot
just need to know what the symptoms of it being blown would be, or if anyone thinks its blown or soemthing small before i do anything.....its just sitting on a sidestreet and i need to get it somewhere....home or shop, but i wanna make sure its worth getting it towed before i do
