Default Attn: Ek owners with rear disc

What car did you get your conversion from and how much did it cost you? I am about to replace my front brakes again in less than a year, I think it's time to upgrade the rears to help out the fronts. What cars could I get the conversion from, GS-R, Del Sol and Civic Si right? Will doing the conversion effect suspsion at all, camber and so forth? I have Nuespeed race springs right now, I want to make sure I can still use them.

Thanks
Matt

i have a gsr rear disk conversion on my 98 hatch. I would recommend getting your car aligned after you install the conversion.
but yes you can get rear disks from gsr, delsols, and 99-00 si's. It only affects your braking.

it only effects the alignment if you change the entire trailing arm

GSR brakes have "beefier" calipers over ex eks, rotors are the same. You should only change exactly what you have to. stock suspension should bolt up. Contact H-T name: Trey he is the H-T ek rear disc conversion guru or at least one of them

How much did your conversion cost? Did you do it yourself or did you have a shop do it? If you had a shop do it, how much did it cost?

I was thinking I could get most of the big parts from a junkyard, but get the pads, rotors, calipers and MC/BB from an autoparts store.

What kind of pads are you using?

I don't think you should be going through pads this quickly unless your using some real cheapies get some Honda pads and Brembo blanks along with your teg rear disk's and you'll be cool

I have two hatches and one has GSR brakes. It cost me 350 for front & rear brakes, mc/booster, and si proportioning valve. Did all the work myself and was easy.
I have another hatch which I just bought the SI brakes and mc/booster for. Cost me 390 w/ all the si suspension.
Make sure you get an alignment after any work like this.

on average, most people sell their rear disk setups for $200-250 complete. i've also heard of possibly a prelude's rear working? not sure on the exact year though.

I got my conversion from another honda-tech member that was selling it. I got it for 175 complete and ready for install. I did the install myself, and the hardest part was removing the e-brake cables and installing the new ones.

I got to keep my suspension because i kept my dx lca.

Mine cost $300 shipped. Also, your braking won't really be improved unless you get a prop valve to match your setup. It won't hurt your brakes performance, but it won't really improve it either. Mine I noticed very slight improvement after continuous hard braking, but that could have just been a hopeful imagination.
