Default 2g teg engine, prelude tranny?

hey guys i dont know much about tegs, but would a prelude tranny fit on it? i know preludes have bseries engines, but do the trannies work?i found an ls engine for my crx, and it has an auto tranny, and i wanna have a 5 speed and can get a prelude tranny for free. its 90-93 teg, and 88-91 prelude

your wrong on this...the generation prelude that he is talking about does have a b series motor and tranny, b20 motor to be precise. so yes you could swap that tranny onto the ls motor.

should have read better, I thought he was just totally off

even so, the tranny will bolt up to the engine, but what tranny mount will you use? Does the CRX one work?

what clutch should i use? can i use the prelude clutch? it already has one in it.

i asked in the crx/civic forum and they all said no it wont work. can anyone help me more? who is 100% sure?

i dont think anybody is 100% sure on here, unless you have actually done the swap then what you hear is hearsay

to my knowledge, b series tannys and motors are swappable with each other.. did you SPECIFY the generation prelude in the CRX forum? because i am pretty sure that the tranny in from that b20 can be mated with any of the b17 , b18a/b/c/c5, b16 series motors...make it clear to them that the 87?-91 model preludes have b series motor and tranny. im sure others will agree with me on this but im only 99% sure...because i have not done this swap, but then again i know people who have used the motors from that prelude and put it in their teg and used their tranny.

older prelude with b20 engine 5spd tranny would bolt right up.. not h-series..
