From what I hear the B20 in the preludes shares nothing with any other B series. I have never even touched that POS of a motor honda made but I highly doubt the tranny will work.

It will not bolt up, it is a B series motor but it has NOTHING in common with the b series we are all familiar with, and I agree that motor is the biggest POS Honda ever made.

the b20a5 found in the 88-89 preludes burn way too much oil I have heard.
teg forum is wrong, they might have thought u meant a b20b or b20z 2wd tranny.
the b20a is a SOHC for starters while all the other b series are DOHC (including the b21 found in the 90-91 prelude si's)

if u do decide to use or eventually switch over to a manual tranny (if the engine is mated with an auto tranny right now) u will also need to switch the cams get some manual cams u could get a pair of 97-01 LS cams for pretty cheap offa ebay prolly.

why does it matter that the B20A5 burn way too much oil.
and you are wrong..... the B20A5 is the motor that doesnt burn oil, the B21A1 is the motor that burns all the oil, and has the oil problems. the B20A5 is just like any other honda motors, works fine if you take care of it, but if you dont youll **** it up. my buddy matt had an 88-89 with B20A5 DOHC motor that had well over 100K miles and he ran that motor hard almost everyday and the motor was perfectly fine.

also, the B20's arent all single cam
the B20A3 is single cam and its from the USDM 88-89 2.0S
the B20A5 is dual cam as well as the B20A6, A7, and A8 ( euro motors )
also the JDM B20A which is what a lot of prelude owners swap into their preludes.

there are more parts than you think that can go on the prelude Bmotor. Cam gears are the same, clutch and flywheel are the same, just need to make sure you get the right diameter.no one has ever done it but, i believe that the tranny will bolt up. and you can also use a Clutch and flywheel for a B16.

only problem, is that the Prelude tranny is cable shifter, and i dont know what the CRX's are. also, if you mate it to that motor then the tranny wont lean backwards like the motor and tranny do in preludes. dont know if that will have an effect or not.
