Local SGV Tribune reporter burns our spot!!!!
here's the article that showed up in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune about "the spot". http://www.sgvtribune.com/Stor....html. I hate it how when the media doesn't have sh*t to talk about, they turn to bullsh*t that isn't of big importance to many people, but you know it will stir up some controversy over mountain running. All the people who talked to the reporter, besides the guy who brought out the reporter, all stuck up for the rest of us and the culture, but
for the idiot who wanted his 5 sec. of fame.

You're feeling in your "right" state of mind?
This could prove to be entertaining.

anything like that on a public roadway is just idiotic. You can't control or exactly know of all the other people's actions that could be located in the same area, on the same roads, etc. Personally I call it idiotic just like Street Racing

Its amazing how some kids can watch a few Best Motoring videos and a cartoon and think that they can escape the basic laws of physics and reality. If you don't have the car control skills, you are going to crash. If you do have the car control skills, there's always someone who doesn't, not to mention the fact that obstacles and/or other drivers could be around any corner. So...you are going to crash.
I know for young punks it usually takes something tragic to happen before they wise up. But hey, if your mistake is big enough...
Didn't think anyone could seriously exceed the ignorance of street racers but regretfully I've been proven wrong.

The really sad part is that this DjGuamstyle appears to be from California, where there are probably more race tracks per capita than any other state in the country. Why canyon carve when you can go to a real track?
Sounds like a really good way to transition from being dumb to being dead. Beyond the risk taken with your own car and body that you have decided you are willing to throw away, there are other people in the world whom you risk taking with you.

Yah, sure.
Another highlight:
>>she came around a curve and saw two sets of headlights coming straight at her. The cars were too close to stop, she said. Just before impact, one car squeezed off the road around her on the edge of a cliff. Joyce passed between them, on the wrong side of the road; the two just kept going.. <<
Endangering innocent people. You guys are such "professionals."

That's completely irrelevant. Theres enough tracks within reasonable driving distance.

Have you ever seen anyone drive off a cliff before????
I have...and it ain't pretty. I hope the road you guys drive on at least has guard rails.
I have seen two cars go off of cliffs. One was a Celica, the other an Audi S4. The Celica was some guy that didn't realize that FF's under steer. He totaled the car and was taken to the hospital.
The guy in the S4 was my friend. He was "canyon carving" and forgot to take off the traction control. He understeered himself off of the cliff, rolled down into a valley and was finally stopped by a large tree.
I wish I had pics to show you guys. You would seriously never do it again. The car looked like a bomb went off inside. The only thing that you could tell was Audi was the rims and the steering wheel. Besides that you couldn't tell what kind of car it was.
My friend had an ear that was half separated from his head. A huge gash over his eye from hitting the windshield and a meesed up ankle. He was the lucky one. The passenger ended up with a dislocated shoulder and internal bleeding from his ribs being pushed into his organs.
Trust me man. You might not have crashed yet, and you might think you are king, but it only takes one mistake to lose it all. And when you think about it, racing on the street isn't worth it if you realize that you might never see your family again.
Also note that my friend has never been the same since the accident. He used to be very focused, but now he seems spaced out all the time. He will never be the same, and he was lucky.
Keep safe guys. You'll regret it if you kill a friend or a stranger.

That article is a really good report on why you are a jackass.
Go crash into something, ruin your car, and don't get hurt or hurt anyone else (I wouldn't wish that on anyone). Get arrested for being a jackass. Get a bunch of points added to your driving record for being a jackass. Do ANYTHING to learn that you're a jackass.
And then come to a track event where we'll show you that there's a time and a place (it's called a weekend, and a road course) for such jackassery.
IBTL.

everyone enjoys a spirited jaunt on a mountain road, but what makes that spirited jaunt seem absolutely boring is when you're heading back down that same road holding your *** in a sling in the back of an ambulance.
i'm sorry, you could have the world's most magical slicks, and the most advanced AWD, and 20/20 vision, and all it takes is a little gravel on a road that isn't swept or maintained to send your *** into the minivan of some poor guy coming home from work @ 1am.

I bet Schumi is training in the mountains right now for next season, since flat surfaces are not a challenge.
