For regular bolt ons you want 2.25 mandral

For all motor or forced ind you want 2.5- 3.0 mandral
and if your broke get custom piping

cat backs:
low tone - Apexi World Sport, Es oval, Magnaflow, RSR, Comptech.
Loud (usually a lil more power) Apexi N1, Spoon N1,5zigin,Tanabe, Jic, Buddy Club.

2.5 down pipe and 3 from the firewall back to an Apex-i N1. loud as hell, but it serves a purpose.

i have had 2 different set ups in my car first the stock type r catback which comes 2.25 inch mandrel bent piping that gave me great performance and it was a sleeper look now i have an APEXi N1 which is 2.5 inch mandrle bent which i thinkk its about the sma eperformance actually just this is a bit louder

honestly for the money id go with the stock type r set up...which by the way i have one for sale check my threads

DC Sports 4-2-1 one piece header
Carsound 2 1/4" hi flow cat
Apex'i World Sport catback

Sounds nice and deep, definitely not too loud. Feels great on the butt dyno.

Past - Apex-i WS (for n/a driving), worked great, nice sound and no exhaust fix-it-tickets. More than I can say for the Thermal Retard & Dis-design exhaust I was running

Current - Ktellers 3" mandrel bent SS kit, 3" Moroso spiral-flow resonator, 3" MagnaFlow muffler, 3" test pipe (temporary), and 2.5" down pipe. Low tone and NO raspy sound at all but pretty loud, not for the kind eared folk.

I think Kteller's exhaust kits are a great value as long as your not afarid to do some welding or have a good exhasut shop weld for you.

4-1 header with 2 1/2 in dp, 2 1/4 in test pipe, thermal 2 1/4 in catback. i have no complaints except for my cheapo header. but that will be taken care of this winter.
