Changing cam seals on 95 GSR, need help???
I have to change a cam seal because it is leaking oil. The engine is a 95 B18C. What do I need to do? Do I need to remove the cams to take out and put in a new cam seal. Help anyone.
yes
you'll need an impact gun to get the cam gears off if you are changing the seals on that side. The seal on the distributor side is self explanitory.
Be sure to torque to spec - inside to out and criss cross.

I don't think he's talking about the actual cam seals. People mistake the cam seal right below the distributor with the two cam seals for the cam shafts.
igone916, if you will be swapping it out, please invest in an STR cam seal
; trust me, its good for the money. if you will be working alone on your car, i suggest you consult some sort of manual like a helms...even a haynes would do (thats what i use). as far as removing your cams, NO you don't need to take it out. have you ever opened up the head? if you've never...I REALLY recommend you use a friggin manual. i can't stress that enough. OH, and if your head gasket is blown, make sure you have a replacement part on the side.
