How do you guys jack up your car
Whenever i'm working on my car i use jackstands, for the smaliest things which involve getting under the car.
I like to place the jackstands at the designated jacking point. But the problem is where do you put the stock jack to jack up the car, I always jack up the car little bit behind the jacking point and than place jackstands on the propper jacking point.
the problem is that, the place where i jack up the car, which is a bit behind the jacking point, that place gets pushed up, each time i jack up the car that area gets pushed up. I'm afriad i might have a big *** hole in my floorboard one day.

i do the same thing man. i have heard of, but never seen, very flat 2 ton jacks that can just slide under the car, even if it is dropped.
anyone know where to pick on of these up?

It all really depends on the car but try to find a spot on the frame. I've also seen it done on the axle's of SUV's and once on the bottom of the shock. Dont know it thats a good place or not. It's great to be able to use a lift at the shop
there are 2 tow hooks on the front of the car you should use to jack it up.. just jack it up high enough to slide the jackstand under the jackpoint and then do the other side the same way. you do the rear the same but there is just one tow hook in the middle that you jack up. if your jack wont go high enough slide a peice of wood or something between the hook and the jack.

Just about every Civic I have seen try this ends up with bent tow hooks. Just jack it up at the designated point on the bottom of the radiator support.

Tow hooks do bend rather easily the previous owner of my car had them all fucked up so i bent them back i doubt that they will hold anything anymore.

It's a slight convex bulge with two holes for drainage. It's slightly off center, I think to the right. Stick your arm under there, you'll be able to feel it.

thank you for solving my problem

you can also use the subframe, its a big metal piece that the control arms bolt to and its pretty obvious. this is useful when u want to get the front even higher. you will have to start with either tow hooks (they never bent on my civic but my friends accord's bent right away) or that point under the radtiator/ ac condensor, which is off center to the right. do not use non designated jack points...wow.
I'm in the military and on every base I've been to they have autobody hobby shops. They have about 6 hydrolic lifts and it costs about $3/hour.
Out in town, there are places that charge about $15-$25 to use their lifts. Very rare to find. Some areas have hobby locations and you have to become a member to use their equipments, tools, and garages. And can be pretty costly. I don't think I'd ever use jacks to do any major work though.
