If i end up with the Subaru WRX how reliable will it by ie: hondas to subarus
hey wsup guys i posted earlier that i have opted to try and get a WRX as opposed to a 4 door gsr my one otehr questions is how reliable will the WRX be? i have never really heard anything bad about Subaru lol but when i mentioned getting one to my parents they laughed at me as if i was going to get a fuckign KIA!!!! being that they think subaru and kia and deawoo all belong in the same damn category. im still gonna go for the WRX but in comparison to a honda/acura how does the reliable is it???
I've heard they have problems with the Turbo. Their boxer engine is not so high-tech either....
Well I have friends that have both RS and WRX scoobies and none them had problems thus far and my friend already has like 40k miles on his because he uses it for travelling. The only thing I heard about was a cel light that came on because apparently certain batch of WRX's had bad O2 sensors..which got replaced under warranty. I haven't heard much else wrong with them and my friend rally's his from time to time and auto crosses it. As for issues with turbos most turbos have issues from time to time as ball bearing can go out on some or oil wasn't returning correctly or on earlier models people did not alow the turbos to cool down and just turn off there cars..which ruins a turbo over time with oil basically frying in there. But the WRX atleast the new one doesn't have turbo problem and does have return sys so you don't have to sit there and idle the car for few mins after a hard run.
Most this is from what I've gotten from my friends that have the WRX or RS scoobies

I have a friend who got one of the new WRX's and has had nothing but problems.
If you check out the reliability ratings in Consumer Reports, Hondas and Toyotas are much more reliable than all the other Japanese brands, but all the Japanese brands are still much more reliable than all the non-Japanese brands. Most reliable of the non-Japanese brands is BMW.

Well I'm sure anytime when there is a redesign your going to have problems with it until all the bugs are worked out. Guy once wanted to trade me for his new S2000 because he got some the first that came out and it was always in the shop for some reason or another. He told me he actually trade me the car and plus even give me 1,000 bucks extra. But I didn't want to give up my car. But then again look at the ITR's been around for a long time but apparently some have issues with gear box according to issue by my dealership parts manager. So in my look on it most cars may have a bug. Some people can race the car and never have damn problem..but then someone drives to work and all sudden it locks up and just shuts off going to work. Basically Sh*t happens sometimes and you can get a lemon no matter what you buy. All I can say atleast it's under warranty. Here if you have the same problem more then 3 times then you can get a new car under the lemon law here.
I was looking at buying a WRX here in oz i heard they're turbo dies quicker than a hyundai.. "They were never built for durability"
You'll love the car anyway it's awesome.

Consumer Reports has always ranked the Impreza high. But, this is the first year that a turbo is in the US. I would just wait a year and then goto to http://www.i-club.com and ask those members. They drive WRX's. The car is too new to make a conclusion.
we had had WRX for 7 years now and the major problem of this car is the gearbox and rear diff also the big end bearing (crank)
