Default K-series oil filter on a B-series

Has anyone ever done this before? If so will I be running into any kind of problems using this filter. Its feels like it boosted the oil pressure on brothers 00 SI when your cruising on a steady speed its jerks-pulls never ever did that before.

Why would you get a K series oil filter for a B series anyway?

It results in a little higher oil pressure.

Does it do anything?

No.

yes ive used it on my b18b and it makes the oil pressure go up.. if ur turbo do not do it. but all motor is ok.. if ur turbo and do this it'll make oil shoot out of the seals and mess up the turbo.. just my .02

Yeah, they are tiny as hell. Honda switched to FRAM filters now.

my 89 accord with 2.0 liter engine calls for the taller filter when i checked for my 96 civic 1.6 liter it called for the shorter filter but ive been running the taller filter and had no problems even if ur turboed u can use a valve to reduce pressure on the turbo. i figure in the long run it keeps ur oil cleaner longer

i use it because its easier to get my hands around to remove when its time for a new one, simple conveniences! i hear it bumps up oil pressure too...

I like the RSX oil filter in my R. It makes it feel a bit peppier or it could be psychological.

Yep...the S2k filters are still the good ol big ones. I have one on my D series motor and it works just fine.

This is not good for turbo guys. And it has been proven that the new oil filters are not as good...

Use the ones you're supposed to use. I get the Fram ones with the grippy stuff on the end. Easy oil changes.

Better for what?? N/A yeah probably turbo NO more oil pressure means more pressure going to my turbo then that means blowing the seals out and taht means bad turbo.

FRAM

That is why no one wants to use the new filters because of their inferior build quality

if your turbo couldn't handle 75-80psi oil pressure and fail because of that, then you really need to upgrade your turbo to a real one.

It is just the consistant wear on the seals in the turbo with the upped oil pressure that scares me a LOT i do not drive the car ona daily basis but daily driven turbo cars i would be a little weary of uping the oil pressure. Call me crazy but that is the truth

Also everything is a wear and tear part WHY put MORE pressure on the seals when all they will do is BLOW! and i DO have a real turbo on my car

You sir, are an idiot. Why would you want to try and blow out your turbo seals?? I personally like my turbo just fine, and am getting oil leaking past my seals when I first start the car. My turbo is a "real turbo" and have gone back to the S2k filters because they don't cause my turbo seals to leak.

whatever you say man. all the turbo/car i have played with didn't have any problem with oil press over 75psi. as the matter of fact, some cars are over or close to 100psi(stock oil press) and even stock turbo can withstand that. i personally don't know what turbo do you own which have a weak oil seal.

I run the Greddy (mitsubishi) Tdo4h-15g. I see no reason to up the oil pressure and push on the seals constantly.
