Need 90 crx Climate control ASAP, its VERY cold getting colder and can't select HEAT
gracias, I'll take a look . I also need two new si seats and all the rear plastics
Are you saying that when you rotate the heat **** to full hot, there's no heat, even if the car is warmed up?
If the car's coming up to temperature normally, (ie your thermostat isn't stuck open) it's likely one or both of the attachment points for the control cables on the back of the heat control are broken.
You can get in there and repair it with some JB Weld or epoxy and maybe a zip tie or two. I can't explain it better without pictures (which I don't have) but I've fixed this problem on a '90 CRX I used to have.
It's fairly common esp. if the car's had a rough life.

it's easy to get around if it's the same problem I have. look behind the stereo area from the passenger side. it's best to gt down in there from through the passenger side door. you can't see jack from the driver's side. anyways, look for the 2 thick black cables coming from the climate control. The heat control **** ativates 2 cables, and I think it's just one of the cables that breaks. wiggle the temp control **** and see which cable still works. the other one should be operable by hand. just look for the widget that it is supposed to move around and move it manually. My heater control is broken, and that's how I deal with it.
was this helpful at all? or am I making no sense?

the cable for the heat is behind the center console right by the heater core... pull on that cable and it will open up a flange which lets hot air in from the engine... its just a temporary fix as it will stay on heat all the time unless you close the flange manually... but hey its better than freezing your ***** off and it will get you by

First off all The **** just spins freely. I mean I would be cool with just turning it to hot all the time, canI just do that with some plyers after I pull the **** off?
you probably could but you would **** up thesplines on the control... im sure its just the **** thats stripped out... ive had many stripped *****... if thats your only prob then theres no sense buying a whole new control, just get a ****... ill see if i have one lying around... if you want it you can have it
HERE, DO THIS.......Chances are the CABLES were hard to move in the first place due to age, lack of lubrication, etc.
SO it MUCH easier to move the heater control valve DIRECTLY under the hood. Look for it at the firewall just below your fuel filter. You will see a little black junction box with a tab on it with the cable attached.
Just take your hand and PIVOT that mechanism back and forth, back and forth, this may "free it up" a bit. It may be "stuck" if the unit hasnt been operated in a long time.
If your cables or **** is stripped at least you can move it to the HOT setting manually so you will have heat this winter.
Hope this helps...........
