Changing Valve Cover & Dressing up the engine bay
Hey what's new guys
I just bought my new Blue JDM SiR H22 Valve Cover for my 4th gen and I'm about to install it probably next friday. I've also bought a Mugen Oil Cap and a Spoon Radiator Cap. NGK High Performance Blue Sparkplug wires and a new nice distributor cap.
I'm wondering what alse have you guys done with your engine bays, and what suggestions do you guys have. I'm planing to Cover all the wires with blue wire loom after I wash my engine bay, but other then that I'm lacking ideas so any ideas you guys have would help me out.
I also have a question about Changing the valve cover. I want to do a Valve adjustment also, but This all have to be done from let's say 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Is that enough time to do all this?
Hit it up with ideas and some help

You need a special tool to adjust the valves, plus some feeler gauges. If this is your first time doing it, I'd save it for later when you have a weekend to work on it. You never know what can happen...
As for the engine dress up....uh, that's all personal preference. I'd steer away from the cheapo colored plastic wire loom. Either get it in black, or go with some silicon hoses. But that's just my opinion...

You are right. The blue wire loom does look cheap, but I couldn't think of anything alse. You just gave me a good idea with the silicon hoses. Where could I get some?
Let's keep the install question to maximum, and engine dress-up questions to a minimum or I'll move this to appearance.

Umm I def. adjusted my valves without a special tool.... All you need is a set of feeler guages, a screwdriver.. and a wrench set... and you'll be fine. A helms manual doesn't hurt either
You should def. be able to do it all from 8-3. It should only take an hour or two.

you could get new caps, power steering, brake etc. personally i wouldn't change them, but it's just an idea, if you want to dress up the engine bay.

o yes you do... its not the same as your h23 the adjustment is too far down in the head to get to, unless you bent the crap out of a wrench to reach down there. use the tool!</TD></TR></TABLE>
true dat! on h23s its no prob, but on h22s, you either need the tool, or you can ghetto rig a tool, but wrenches arent gonna cut it, thats fo sho!

oh ya...ive done about 15 valve adjustments on h22, using a flat head and a socket. i guess those tools are very special. you just need to check w/feeler gages after ytou tighten the nut down.

can you have too much of one color under the hood? My car is that blue-green color, so everything under my hood is blue (intake, fuel rail, fpr, plug wires, pulleys, and some steel braided lines with blue end caps) and i was thinking of getting a blue valve cover as well. Is that too much, or would it still look ok?
