Just bought it new from ebay. Now i wonder if I got the real deal or if I've been fouled. It's supposed to made of titanium, but when I put it on the floor and stand on it bends a bit. It's very light though, almost too light. Is there any way I can see if I've got the real deal??

Oh, and thats a tower brace, not a swaybar.

 

i dont think titanium is polished either. but i could always be wrong.

 

The pics in the 1st post are not of either the 1st or 2nd gen Mugen front upper strut bar.

 

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that looks pretty fake to me. Mugen welds are a lot better than that you have. And, all their strut bars have a bit of gold hue to it. Looks like yours is polished aluminum.

Looks like it's been chromed.
Mugen bars for public sale were never known to be made of Ti.

The above pic does not resemble a mugen strut bar at all. even the emblem placement looks... ick.

It was advertised as "Mugen STYLE strut bar"

 

I'm gonna put it to you bluntly. If you were thinking that it was a real Mugen bar, you just got JIPPED!!!!

 

Øyvind, that bar is a replica of the Mugen.

I wouldn't worry too much about it...the difference is not noticable.

sorry to say but I'm sure you just bought the FAKE stuff......I had seen one of your bar in person....and I can tell you they are worst than the DC Sport's one.

Its a copy/fake. Usually they are on ebay as "Mugen Style"...

Hell, just rip that Mugen emblem off and paint the sucka black, itll be fine.

Took some more pics without the sticker on it. Looks excatly like the one in the thread you mention....

Is there any way of 100% identifying it as real or fake??

I am 100% sure it's not a genuine Mugen strut bar. Don't stress about it, it's just a strut bar.
