Are you burning any of it? Can you see smoke or anything? My car does this too, but mine leaks about a quart a week. I know i dont burn it because i dont see any smoke. It's probably leaking from somewhere (but i dont see any oil spots under my car). So im kinda in the same boat as you. The only leak i found was from the valvecover gasket

main seal is my first suspect if your not throwing no smoke and dont see any leakage up near head area if it is throwing smoke im thinking its your bearings. can you give more or a discription if you see oil leaking or smoke coming out your exhaust

Actually i had that changed because it was leaking from that before, and leaking a LOT. Every morning when i come out there would be a puddle under my car. After i got that changed, oil didnt leak, but now my oil is dissappearing.

How many miles are you driving per quart of oil lost? You can actually burn a lot before you see smoke out the tail pipe. Answer us this and we might be able to have a betrter idea where its going.

1. change your PCV valve. Sudden increase in oil consumption is a symptom of PCV. It's cheap and easy.

2. get or do a leakdown test to determine engine health

3. if it's your rings...*sometimes* the oil control rings are "frozen" up with gunk that just causes the symptoms of bad rings. There's good writeup from a Honda tech that outlines how to soak you pistons in ATF overnight, while everything is still in your car. The detergent in ATF supposedly frees up the rings to do their job.

I still don't know if he is going through a quart every 1,000 miles or every 10 miles, it makes all the difference at the rate he is loosing oil to venture a quess as to where its going. A quart every 1,000 isn't going to visibly smoke, a quart every 100 he is going to lay down a noticible smokescreen.

A quart every 600 you should see out of the tailpipe either at hard acceleration or under decelleration, Not super thick but you should see it in the mirror. THat is if its burning, if its leaking the underside of your car should have oil on it. A lot of it. Even if it only leaks when the car is running. THe PCV valve is a clear possibility, But thats a lot of oil even for that. If the underside of your car is wet with oil its a leak, let me ask you something, you do always check the oil with the motor OFF don't you, and wait a few minutes if you just shut it off?

LOL, yea i do check it with the motor OFF. Im pretty sure its a leak, but only when im driving. The underside of my car has oil all over it....hmm...now to figure out where the hell its leaking from. The only place i've found is the valvecover gasket... Oh yea BTW, the valvecover gasket is leaking, so theres some oil in my plugs, but i dont think its enough to lose a quart every 600 miles through oil in the plugs could it?

how many miles not sure to be exact my car doesn't move much but when i do move it its from portsmouth to virginia beach which is about 50 miles coming and coming back so i would say about a good 200 miles a week but theres no oil leaking underneath or under the hood except for my intake i removed the factory set up and just left one peice think that could be it?

DO this get a few cans of degreaser, spray down the entire engine bay and underside, go drink a bear, 20-30 minutes later rinse it off let it dry, next time you drive it look for the areas wet with oil, it will be fresh. Make sure your oil filter is not whats leaking, like you put a new filter on and there was still the old O ring stuck on the block or maybe its loose and not seated right.

that will let you narrow down the leak.

yes, typo, I highly doubt a bear would peacefully sit there while you tried to. But getting rid of all the old oil and looking for when it starts, and I mean check every few miles, don't wait 500. you will see where its coming from before it runs and gets blown everywhere.
