doin xmas shopping, not familiar with EP3's...shift boots and aftermarket shift knobs?
my friend has an ep3 civic si and i wanted to get him a skunk2 shiftknob. will he be able to use his stock shift boot? or will he have to get the jdm civic type r shift boot?

You really need the type-R shift boot. It is meant for that style of shift ****, where the OEM USDM shift boot is made to fit into the ring on the OEM shift ****.

Just go to an Acura dealer and get this part
08999-BAK-100 for about 6.99 It is the adapter that comes with the RSX accessory ***** so you can remove the factory trim piece that clips to the **** and just have a clean round trim ring where the shift boot ends.
