You are going to need a lot more than that to get 250-300 hp naturally aspirated. You will pretty much need a fully built, high compression, big cam race motor to get that kind of numbers.

NAAAWS

if you don't want an SC or turbo, and dont have a lot of money, and you want 250-300 hp, I dont know what else to tell you....

All us here want more power, but most of us dont have the cash to blow on a full rebuild, secondly most of us drive our cars on a daily basis, so high compression could be out of the question.

Details!

Does anyone else got good pointers
like actual facts
For Example: I found out that the bottom ends in b18a dont hold up good against V-Tech
u see if i was gonna go V-Tech that would be something interesting to know
not have my pistons sieze on me or oil pan blow.

if you want 250 cranh hp + you need

12+ to 1 compression
ported polished head, titanium retainers, dual valve springs, 3 angle valve job, polished cumbustion chamber....to freshen it up

big cams, the crower 403 23+ whp or toda c, Jun or skunk2 stage 3

a race header, an-r or smsp

hondata

450 talon injectors, test pipe etcccc

a good cheap build is to just add CTR pistons , type-r head and huge cams,

time saving and will get you 200+ whp

LOL

nono, I ahve 3 friends with lsvtecs, they are reliable, just make sure you do this

1) vtec oil and water pump
2) don't plug the oil hole in the head, plug it with a fitting and then weld it then send it to get resurfaced, will never leak.......100% guaranteed

I would do this:

b16 head - high lift duration cams of your choice - CTR cams are cheap and yield good numbers.

Upgraded valve train -

TB - bore out your stock TB for savings or ITR

IM - ITR

header - header tech, JDM 4 to 1, ANR, smsp

no cat, test pipe 2.5 inch exhaust and a straight through muffler

And some management, hondata or V-AFC

Depending on the cams and tuning you will see 180 - 200 WHP.
