I totaly feel bad when...
*Cliffs notes at bottom
Basically I feel bad when I kill totally riced out Hondas and afterwards the guy says "wow, nice car man"
It makes me feel like crap when they do that!!! Let me paint a picture for you: Altezza's, 18", Z3 fenders(still primer), red "Civic" windshield banner, red wipers, huge front bumper kit(still white).
On my way home from work today I come up on this Civic, and me, totally hate seeing this, but keeping my cool I just pass him up. Later we get caught at a stop sign together and kinda just sit there and I let him go first, noticing his quick acceleration I just totally go off!!! AEM pronouncing VTEC though his open window!! Scratched second and let off half way through 3rd. I made my point and I let him catch up and he has his window down and just says, "wow, nice car!!, what you got on it" I just say intake and header and ask him the same to which he replies "intake and exhaust" I wave, and go on feeling like a totally Type R a$$hole.
He was nice and didn't hate, I guess you could say I was hatin' cuz when I see car like this I think, this just makes me sick, why do they do that??? All that money spent on kits, and 18"'s could've been for go fast parts!!! But I guess maybe I can understand some people want performance w/ styling. Although I don't call that style. Yea, I have strict rules on what I consider rice, but I realize others don't always share my views and I can't change people's minds. Everyone's different.
**I totally killed a riced out Civic today, and felt bad for doing it cuz the guy was really cool and complemented my car. So sue me!!
BTW, don't race through The Woodlands, Tx, cops all over during your drive home from work.

I feel the same way from time to time. Actually, this evening I had a simular experience.
I remember the first year I had the R I used to get challenged all the time. Now I think people are starting to give it more respect which is great to see. I once had this 70+ year old man ask me if my wheels were 16" or 17" while stopped at an interesection. When I told him they were 16s he smilled and said they looked good! One day these cars are going to be rare and people will stop and watch them as they do today with all classic cars. It's great to see!
Don't feel bad, it happens to all of us! Sometimes we forget that people are actually starting to respect these little white monsters! Even those that hated them not long ago!

Well WinglessR, although we don't share the same car, we do share the same idea when it comes to racing. I personally do not street race due to the fact that I hardly drive my car, but I know exactly how you feel. But you must not forget that by thinking this way you automatically feel sorry for the other person on the street when that person is doing just fine and as toatlly at peace with what he/she is driving. Its not like their homeless, yet nontheless I understand exactly how one feels after pulling up next to them and realizing that there is really no competition between your car and the other persons car.
Oh well, I guess its just something we both have to live with. I sometimes think I am too considerate towards people but in the end, even if they turned out to be jerks, at least I know I gave them the respect that any other human being deserves.
What can I say......sue us for having a conscience!
