100 dollars is a pretty good deal for a complete interior... some people gut thier interiors to be cool. I saw the most riced out eclipse in the world and it had a partially gutted interior..

I'm putting my interior back in

But I'm gutted right now and am in the process of gutting it further so that I can hear the squeaks and rattles. I figure if I gut it and fix all the squeaks and rattles while I can hear 'em, and then add pieces one by one, making sure all the annoying noises are still gone during each phase of the re-installation, when I'm done my car will sound like new again

ghetto profromance if u ask me.. sorry but i think i can lose more weight off my body then i can by gutting some plastic pieces that actually make the car look nice.. now if u gut the A/C then yes.. worth it.. over 100lbs reduction there if you do it right. but the rear panals and ****..i mean come on they weight less then 3lbs

just take a ****, shave all the hair off your body and dont wear shoes. the only thing that weighs a substantial amount in the interior is the passenger and driver seat. ironically when everyone guts their interiors they leave the stock heavy seats in

mine wieghd 30 pounds just for the seat. and my whole backseat i could probably lift up with 2 fingers

I snagged 88 pounds of just the rear of my car by junking all the plastic, sound tar deadening ****, tire with 18lb steelie, hidden rusty alternator. I just cleaned it good and paited it black and tossed my blue sub box back there and it looks great. My sub box is huge so I knew I had to gut there car. Sold the complete rear for 150

i gutted my hatch for performance reasons too , every little pound counts . even though it can get annoying after awhile hearing every little thing but thats why i have a bone stock hf with that 4 inch stock lift . and how do you take out that sound tar deadening ****?

Ironically, lots of people don't HAVE backseats anyway, and can't afford aftermarket performance seats. Are you the kind of person that recommends 'fixing' a problem by replacing the part with a more expensive, albeit superior, one? Kind of like 'fixing' a B16 bottom end by replacing it with a B18C, or 'fixing' a JDM cable transmission by getting the HASport hydro-to-cable conversion and a Type R transmission. Some of us don't have *any* money, so yeah, while replacing the seats with lightweight ones is the better solution, it's completely unrealistic for a lot of us

I'm not in Ghetto Garage Racing 'cause I spend a lot of $$$ on my car - I'm in it 'cause I like doing cheap, or even better, free modifications that make me faster.

I didn't gut my car, but I did take the back seats out, I just didn't like the way the interior looked with them in.

But I must say everyday I hear a new rattle or squeak coming from the back and it is so anoying, my girlfriend doesn't like my car because she says it makes too much noise.

I with ya Raene, I will to eventually figure out what is causing all the rattling in the back of the hatch.

i have my whole car gutted and although most of the stuff doesn't weigh anything there is a few other pieces that i was glad i took out, including the dash. its not my daily driver, but when i did drive it (in process of swaping) i loved it. i thought it was cool that the only thing i could hear was my engine (all 60 hp) and the road. i personally liked it and thought it was a lot more fun to drive. if it was my daily driver, yeah i would want a stereo that i could listen to and i would also like to be able to hear what i was thinking at the time but you have to look at it in the sense that the car has a certain purpose. and each purpose is different depending on who owns it. and for the people who gut their interiors to be cool are driving cars for the wrong reason.

im right there with you... i did keep all the interior so i can sell or trade it to someone who wants it though... i like the way my car looks gutted... i took out all the carpet front and rear, and all the rear interior panels both on the floor and over the wheel wells... my hf didnt have any sound deadening material in the back only some under the driver side carpet and a small strip by the ecu on the passenger side... all that junk weiged almost 40 pounds... the way i look at it is it saves weight, looks good, and you dont have to worry about cleaning it up as much as you do carpet

All summer i rode around with the rear gutted, and it was .6 quicker in the 1/4, whether it be that or better driving, i duno. As soon as it started getting cold i just tossed the rear plastic in and all the trim with out bolting it down and i just have my seat laying down flat without the bottom part. The only reason i did is becuz in PA, your windows get a lil foggy if its 10 degrees back there.

im a 17 year old with an after school job. i work 35 hours a week for minimum wage. i meant more along the lines of taking out your passenger seat when you gut your car. all the gutted cars ive seen had the seat left inside.
