Default tranny question again but a bit different..b16 tranny expert ??

in the states if i want buy any aftermarket parts for the b16 tranny(eg,closeratio gearsets,FD or clutches),they will ask whether my tranny is hydro or cable.. i live in the other end of the world where the question would be like ,"is ur tranny off b16 with big VTEC emblem or small on the valvecover".i have a JDM YS1 cable where i successfully install the ATS FD and ATS LSD for b16 hydro with no problem..although the guy at ATS argue saying that i should get the cable one as the hydro parts wont fit but i disprove him..may be there is a different in usdm YS1 with the JDM YS1...whats the different with hydro n cable transmission?may be someone can clear this up.i have search..

one uses a cable to activate the release bearing and one uses a hydraulic slave cylinder.[
