Default Availability of D16a6 motors?

ANyone know where I could get ahold of a d16a6 motor for a decent price? I've got a 91 Civic Si with a blown motor and I just want to put a sotck motor in it to sell her.

thanks in advance!

Try a salvage yard in your area. They should be able to locate a d16a6 pretty easily.

Well if you already have an Si motor thats blown you could always just pick up a DX motor and bolt all your MPFI stuff onto it and then it would basically be an Si motor. I mean you could even use the cam from the Si motor as well. That is of course if you cant find an A6. If your just doing it to sell it what difference does it make?? I mean no one is going to be able to tell (power wise that is) that its a DX motor that was swapped with MPFI over an actual A6.

Cause you would get a hell of a lot less money for it not running over running.

THey're around. If you were asking a month from now I'd offer you mine. planning on a ZC or B18. so I'll have a perfectly good a6 sitting around. and I'm sure there are plenty of people with the same story as me. so just poke around in the classifieds from time to time.

Yeah, I was originally thinking about doing the same thing, but I have since decided to buy a 2000 Civic SI instead, so I won't need to bother.

I can see that. I'm a Subaru guy, and my CRX is just a fun way to pass the time while I save up for a WRX. I want to build up my car, but I don't want to spend a ton on it.

contact the local import speed shops. Chances are that they have performed some swaps and may have some D16s laying around that they just want to get rid of.

Depending on the price of the A6, I'm sure that you could just go to http://www.hmotorsonline.com, buy a ZC for $525, and sell the car for a grand more than you were planning on.

Good engine. But oh well, it you want an A6, they're a dime-a-dozon. Good ones are like $300.

I'm trying to stay away from having to deal with a smog ref, if possible. Is the zc dificult to get certified? I was considering it, but with the D16 I don't have to worry, just bolt it in and go.
