Default No good deed goes unpunished ...

Just my luck lately, why does it seem that no good deed goes unpunished?

So I'm coming out of Alexandria's U.S. District courthouse after paying the rest of my fine and taking care of some business, and I see this big ole burgandy Lincoln with it's front end up against my rear bumper, wheels turned and not quite finished pulling/backing into the curb-side parking spot behind my car.

What makes this so difficult and ironic at the same time, is that when I first parked the car I noticed that someone else was also trying to park a similar size (compact) car behind me, so I move up a bit more (closer to the M-B in front of me) to make sure that the guy in the compact could park w/o scraping my car!!!

Back to the Lincoln, well I'm sitting in the car waiting for the owner to come back and there are quite a few Alexandria police cars going back and forth ... so I flag one of them down and explain "my situation". He says basicly he can't write a report if it's less than $1k, and to leave the owner of the car a note (in something plastic since it's raining out).

Well, I'm looking over the damage (not really that bad, bit still ... where's the "justice" in this situation), and I realize the guy's front plate is about to fall off.

Hmmmm ... I wonder where those sheet metal screws ended up?

I wasn't sure whether he'd go forward or backwards first.

For sure he'll be losing his front plate shortly, bet he won't even notice the CW paint on his passenger front corner and lic. plate holder.

I wouldn't purposefully destroy someone else's property, esp with cops everywhere, etc.
But some stragicly placed road debris ... is just simple "justice".

HOpefully you got his tag number. You can find anything with someone's tag #. Just find someone who has authorization to go under tagtalk and look it up there address, insurance information, who it's registered to, etc... At least that's what we have in Florida.

Marc ---> who does that chit for work.

oh no Ed.. so sorry... Some people just have no respect for other peoples cars.. its like siting in your car in a parking lot and seeing someone park RIGHT next to you and open their door into your car. Happened to me once a long while ago.... got out of the car with my fists swinging lol

Violence is rarely the answer.
I've had an interesting year, this is just a little below the belt. LOL!

The scrapes in the bumper cap can be covered with some light sanding and touchup paint I have left over from when My rear wing was vandalized.
The divot near the center of the bumber will always be there, though.

At least I'm still relatively free of door dings (or should I even have said that)?

Thanks Gina.
That door ding thing happened to my brother's 66 Malibu convertible (or was it his 62 Nova)?
My brother asked the guy how he'd like it if it happened to him?
Guy said ok with me.
Brother reached into his tool box and planted a ball peen hammer in the guys hood.
The guy got in his car and drove off, my brother had a witness to the whole thing and it seemed the guy let him (from I understand it was a relativey new car at the time).

Hehe .... I'm one of the few people in my family with any real patience (but enough is enough). LOL!

Justice can only be had by doing it yourself. The law can only aid you in defending yourself against others.

That sort of stuff happens so often over here. Sorry to hear that about your teg. The parking spots here are so small that every time i park i have to selectivly park next to someone that 'respects' their car. If not you get door dents and scratches. Also a very comon thing is the purse scratch. So far over 3 months of parking only in underground pay parking lots. Ive gotten 1 door hit, 1 purse scratch, and two butt cheek marks on my front wing.
