Default swap questions

Just completed a B18b1 swap into my Ek hatch. Drove the car for the first time today, and it does not feel very stable. The engine seems like it does not want to be secure, and moves when clutch is engaged. All mounts are secure. When it drives it feels like it wobbles.
Next it idles very high at like 2 grand all the time, I have adjusted the idle screw on the throtle body all the way down, and it still is ideling high. Is there another way to adjust idle?
Lastly do you think i should just take it to or ? And how much is that gonna run? thanks for your imput

The high idle could be caused by an open vaccum or leak. If you have torqued ALL mounts to spec and are using all of them then I'm not sure what to do in that case. Some people leave out the front tranny bracket with dampening mount and the A/C bracket and mount which will give the motor a lot of rocking movement. Not to mention it will put added stress and wear on the other mounts.

Are you throwing any codes? If the light is on you still may have some jump them out and let us know. If you can take a few pics of the engine bay let me see whats going on in there...

did you use factory honda/acura mounts or did you use some type of aftermarket mounts?

Yeah, which mounts do you actually have attatched to the motor. I have 5 mounts including the upper timing, lower a/c, lower tranny, upper tranny, and rear passenger mounts.

Check and make sure that the speed sensor plug is clipped in on the tranny. Maybe you overlooked it or it's not plugged in good. If the speed sensor isn't plugged in or working right then you'll have a check engine light and it will put the ECU into safe mode.

Look where the ECU is located.

right above the ecu under the dash there should be a big Green plug with 2 smaller blue plugs inside it. It will go no where it serves only as a place for the smaller plugs to reside.

one will have 3 wires going to it the other 2. should be a brown and a green may be diff for your car ... but anyway pull the 2 wire plug out of the shell and jump it out .... (take a small piece of wire or paper clip and stick it in either side) With the car to the ON position not cranked ... wait for the check engine light to come on.. count the number of flashes...

for every long flash you count 10 for every short flash you count one....

for example one long flash and 4 realy short flashes would be code 14...

one long flash would be code 10...

9 short flashes would be code 9...

it will always start with the longflashes first....

if you have more than one code it will flash one after the other with a small hesitiation in the flashes....

for example...

long,short,short,short......long, long, short short.....repeat.....

so it will be throwing.... 13, 22, 13, 22 and it will continue untill you take the jumper out or turn off the car....

let me know what you dont understand of that and i will try and help you out with it

goodluck

Your missing your front tranny mount.
It also looks like your missing a bolt in your upper tranny mount.

Do you have your a/c mounting bracket?

Here's what the front tranny mount looks like:

In this pic you can see the a/c mount (to the right of the exhaust manifold near the bottom of the block).

Sometimes the stock timming belt mount tears on the ek chassis... check that... and you are missing a bolt in the tranny bracket...

the belt could rip from simple wear and tear as well as if its installed wrong .... try and get another bolt in it and tighten it all the way down and the next time you take out your tranny go get it re-taped...

has anything changed with your car?

let me know if you have anymore questions..

I have all mounts in and secure except for that one bolt on top of tranny, I have noticed that when i just rev the engine a little the whole friggin think moves like a lot. I looked at the rear mount when doing this and it seems that the bushing has lots of play. Now my question is.... I had to replace the rear mount with a B16a2 mount. Are the bushing mounts that stay on the frame diffrent or are they universal? looks to me like i could use some new mounts cause there really shitty, and could this be causing all the movement with my engine while driving? I am going to try to check the codes today to see what i'm throwing and i'll let you know what i come up with.
Bump You've been a big help thanks man

Does look like an of the mounts are broken. EK driver's side mount always brake. As for your idle problem it can be the iac, fast idle valve if your tb has one under it or a vacuum hose leak, etc.

checked all mounts secure no rips. iac vaulve replaced. No vac leaks. Still have the wobbles. again it only does it when i step on the gas. Could it be the clutch? axels? I've asked everyone and i seem to be the only one who has ran into this problem.
