Possible IACV issue, but not sure...
I just finished a '97 b16 (OBDII) swap on my '96 ek hatch. Everything runs great and this is the last issue im having. When the motor is warmed up the idle pulsates between 1,000k-1,400k. It does this about 3-5 times (it fluctuates) then stops. One of my friends had the same swap and had a similar issue but it was much worse (as is the case with most of the IACV threads I've seen here) idleing between 1k-2k and not stopping. Could it just need some cleaning? I repinned it properly and converted it from 3-wire to 2-wire. At work right now, so I cant do anything until 6pm est. Thanks in advance guys

Check your idle mixture screw on the TB too, because I have personally seen a few idle control malfunction CELs caused by a backed-out idle mixture screw.
Let me ask you this:
When you unplug the IACV at idle (after the engine is warmed up) does the idle change at all?
If it doesn't check the idle mixture screw - it should be turned all the way in, then backed out about 1/4 of a turn.
If the idle mixture screw is adjusted properly and yet the IACV still doesn't change the idle when unplugging then either check your wiring again, or replace the IACV.
BTW:
What engine harness are you running?

Re: Possible IACV issue, but not sure... (B18C5-EH2)
Thanks for the help. Im running the DX harness which proved to be quite a pain with the TPS and MAP sensors. I do throw a CEL after driving it for a few minutes. But my exhaust isnt on the car yet since the system I got was too long and needs to be shortened. I figured the CEL was just the o2 sensor but when I try and read the code, nothing shows up
Ill check the mixture screw and disconnect the IACV when I get home. Im about an hour away from my car right now, plus the starter died on my last night. Hmotors is sending me out a new one today. Good ole' clutch-pop does the trick though lol
You mentioned if all your recommended steps dont fix it, change the IACV. Would cleaning it possibly help or is that possibility void through your said steps? Like I said, it does stop pulsating after about 3-5 pulses and idles a bit high at about 900-1k.
