it was a great day. the temps were a little balmy which was good for the tires.

we were running the full course CW, so we got the bowl and the blind chicane @ 80 m/h.

lots and lots of Evo's there, not as many hondas as i thought (mostly RSX's, some DC2's, a couple of civvies, and 2 ludes). only one other lude, who unfortunately went off course on his first run and was in the pits the rest of the day wiping dust off of his interior, and wondering if the broken oil pan(?) (i thought it was the brake fluid lines but who knows) would survive the trip back to LA.

the event was a little raw, they could have started cars out of grid a little more conscientiously, because there were some problems with spacing on course. there weren't too many ******** out there yesterday which was good.

highlights:
weather
boosted s2000
300 hp 2100 pound Scirocco
no accidents
the newly installed quaife
azenis, pre-greasy

personal lowlights:
FWD
stock suspension
brake fade
getting pulled on by slushy mustangs in the straights and having to brake for them in the corners

pics:

cool review and pics. you should come out to the redline track events weekend event dec 13 & 14 on the streets, it will probabaly have smaller, more organized run groups than this event.

streets has a tendency to bottleneck real fast with slow traffic, i often pull into the hot pits and wait for an opening.

oh, and you might want to work on your line through the skidpad.

It was ok out there
I had to many frickin problems with my hatch. so it made my day suck
I found out after the first heat that I was shooting smoke everywhere and that I had almost 2 qts of extra oil in my engine (I didnt fill it like that). then later in other heats, after like 2 laps, my car would hella bog down and give me no power. so it made my day suck. I never got a full heat. and I dont even know why it was bogging down.

but I was thankful it didnt rain while I was there.

hehe, yeah that line through the skid pad makes no sense. drawing a straightline in photoshop can be really hard on my hand's suspension

i was thinking about the redline day but there's an autocross practice/championship that i'm thinking i should go to...decisions decisions!

it was my first time out to a track event and i had a great time...i tried different settings on my suspension and realized that too stiff isn't good, as the tires just slide out. anyways, i was the one with the black ek.

my friends took some pictures. i'll try to post them when i get them.

yeah my runs after making a sway bar adjustment were much smoother. strangely enough, i broke my driver's side endlink and couldn't adjust the stiffness on that side, and had already adj the other and had to run my heat so i was on an unbalanced sway bar....and i liked it! along with running my shitty DD pirelli's on the rear...

I though it was kick ***, especially considering that I've never been on a track before. There were some very nice cars out there. I especially liked the red DC2, the Audi TTs and the yellow EK hatch. I've never seen so many Evos and SR20 240s before...

I was surprised at how well my car faired. It felt extremely balanced and was very fast for what it is. Finally got it dialed in right, I guess.

Good times, great track. I have a bunch of pics that I'll post soon. 3 rolls worth.

Well the turnout was great lots of cars but it was like a evo meet.LOL i was in the yellow hatch with my boys 04 sti and red dc. It was my first time on the track and first chance i got to use my heel toe i been practicing for days, i love the track it was good for my motor lots of turns and elevation changes which i utilized to catch up to the high horsepower cars. Hopefully all is well for the lude that spun out. Myself i spun out twice chasing a white evo i messed up becuz i was following his line straight into the opposite ditch he was in. I had lil minor probs in my yellow hatch for some reason the lifter nut kept popping off making the head rattle luckily we found the nut under the lifter and put it bac on with no torque wrench then the car ran find disapointedly it happen again so we pop off the vavle cover and replace it once again finally tightening it down close enough to specs for it to stay on. Hopefully i be out there in december i want do my VTEC head b4 i head out there again. i didnt get a chance to get pics but whoever got some post em.
PS whoever was there u guys seen that clean *** drift by the gold 240 at the end of the day it was sickkk.

agreed on all accounts:

i'm now officially sick of EVO's, i got a lot of heel to practice in and am pretty good at it now, and that drift at the end of the day was pretty neat. the guys in the tow truck said immediately after "ok that's it, that guy needs to be blackballed"

i'm gonna sit december 14th out, because my azenis are already mad at me

hmm maybe he said flagged. he could have said something totally different, too but it was something to the effect that were it earlier in the day, it would have ended his day...

at any rate, the officials from SOWS were not pleased by it.

haha thanks..my friend with the saleen snapped them. anyways, i loved the feel of my suspension. i realized that stiffest isn't always the best, as when i ran it at 2 clicks from stiffest, it was terrible. later on i switched to 4 clicks from stiffest, and it felt much better, the tires actually gripped....yea, it was pretty sucky on the straight aways....overpowered cars would pass me up, and i would catch up to them on the turns...for instance, this one s2000, i would tail him on the turns, but on the straights, he would just gun it, leaving me behind, but once the turns approached, i would catch up to him quickly. after 3 - 4 laps of that, he fiinally let me pass anyways, i've got some sohc mods that are waiting to be put on, so hopefully that stuff can free some hp for now...can't wait til the next event!!

here is a high res picture of your car...
