question about stack cluster

And they really don't retain anything for that matter, since you have install Stack sensors for all of the parameters you are tracking. You can't really reuse any of the factory sensors, they probably give out the wrong range of voltages. At least for things like temp and pressure. For speed they use a hall effect sensor.

yes, i am wondering about the 8100 and 8130... i see that the lap timers are an option, turn signals are no big deal, i am just concerned that if the ecu is throwing a code it will not be known.
i might opt for the st700 and mount it into my existing stock cluster.
any other recommendations are appreciated. it needs to be drivable on the street, but my car is setup for lapping and i dont want gauges all over the dash.

one option is to trace and figure out what wire comming into the factory cluster triggers the check engine light, and mount a light off of that wire in another location. This way you know if that light is on, it really means "Check Engine"

the st700 will only allow for oil pressure and one temp readout, it has speed, acceleration timer, battery, lap timer option with memory, trip and odometer, shift lights... good for street use plus i can fit it into a civic cx cluter that only has a center mounted speedometer, plus water temp and fuel level. i could keep the stock fuel level gauge and replace the water temp sensor with an accurate aftermarket.
the full cluster will display all vital signs on the digital readout, however it will not be able to support acceleration timer, and in order to get trip/odometer and laptimer with memory i am looking at $2,000 or more. i would need to setup up a check engine light as suggested above.
basically it comes down to what i can find and afford, is anyone selling these used?
