other than what speeds you shift at and other than looking at the tag which can be removed or changed and other than checking if it has LSD .. is there anyway from looking at the case?

because when buying a tranny the LS and GSR both are Y80
and the tags even can be changhed around ?

anyone help .. i've asked and searched around everywhere and no one really knows.

 

Ls and Gsr also have s80. Only way to really tell is to open it up and start counting .
