i ran a 1:31.7 in a totally stock Lancer Evolution in July (see link). it ran out of steam down the big straight (top speed was only about 125mph). I blew an intercooler hose the first session out which was the coolest....so this was midday...

Summit Point:

1988 BMW M5 1.27.86 (Hoosiers)
1998 Spec Racer Ford 1.26.21 (Yokohama R compounds)
1995 F355 Challenge 1.18.76 (Pirelli PZero Slicks)
1996 Acura Integra LS Grand Am Cup car (To be determined this weekend)

The time trial lap time listed for the Ferrari 355 F1 is pretty slow. A fast time for a street 355 is about 1.24 or thereabouts.

I ran a 1:26.5 two weekends ago at the ECHC finale. It's my best time there so far, so I was happy.

People say that I can get down to the high 1:24ish mark, but I think that a different driver needs to be behind the wheel for that

Yes, will be there both days trying to figure out what the heck I am doing in a front wheel drive car.

Should be fun though it's going to take some getting used to with FWD and lack of hp.

As long as it's not slower than the cars in the 944 Cup should be okay, right George.

Default DEs & timing

lemme put on my party pooper hat for a minute...

i'd like to warn the DEers about posting lap times... not only does it jepordize your insurance coverage, it also jepordizes the event organizer's. just to be clear, i dont see any big deal about timing laps in a DE either. whats stupid is advertising it on a web site. if you have to make an insurance claim, there's a good chance that you're gonna be busted

this doesn't apply to sanctioned time trials/solo I & II. they are races, you've got no insurance

btw, mylaps.com has laptimes from lots o races at lots o tracks if you want to check it out.

joel

Without lap times you will never know if you suck or are the king. Without lap times, how can you ever hope to improve?
