No one makes a mount kit for that I know of but I didin't look much. If some one knows a place with a mount kit let me know so I can get hydro to.

yeah they're interchangeable but the 92+ civic transmissions are hydro, this means that you will have to get a cable to hydro conversion kit which can run about $300+. I don't hink it's worth that for a d series tranny swap...only for like an H or B series swap. But yah, the Tranny WILL bolt on exactly with now problem. But, when it comes to mounting it in your Rex, that will be another problem. Besides, why would you want to swap in a 92-95 dx tranny? It is the same exact tranny as a 88-91 dx tranny except its hydro. It isn't any faster or anything like that. By taking out ur Si tranny and swapping in the dx tranny, you're gonna make ur car ALOT SLOWER! The best d-series tranny is a Si/Zc hybrid. If you could get the Si tranny and have someone swap in the ZC final drive....that's the best d series tranny ever! Or just get an 88-91 Si tranny...that's your next best bet or just the ZC tranny although you'll be burning through a full tank of gas pretty fast with that tranny.

Also I forgot....ur crx is an 88 right? That means if you wanted to spend all that money to put the dx tranny into ur Si, you would also have to replace your clutch, and pressure plate as well because the 88 civic/crx tranny has 21 splines whereas the 89 and up civic tranny has 20 splines. If you wanna get better grip and acceleration, replace your stock si clutch and pressure plate with one from and 92-95 civic dx or si. It is alot larger in diameter so alot better grip during shifting. You should get a 92-95 civic ex/si exedy clutch or similar aftermarket clutch...it will bolt into your 88 as long as you get a 92-95 flywheel as well if I remember right...

why do you think the 89-95 is a better tranny? It's only better because it has a larger in diameter clutch in it. But you can easily just swap over the whole setup to your si tranny...just make sure to get the clutch and pressure plate...I can't remember if you need the flywheel too...but I think you do. Next time you need to buy a new clutch...just buy one for a 92-95 civic and put it into your si tranny. That would make your clutch grip alot better. I don't see any sense in swapping out the si tranny for the slower dx tranny...trust me it's not better.

No, they are not interchangable. The D series engine will bolt to the D series tranny without any problems. The issue lies in the mounts. The 92+ D series has different mount locations for the tranny. The other issue is that the 92+ tranny is hydrolic. Nobody makes a kit to use a hydrolic d-series tranny in a cable car.

I guess you could always weld in the appropriate mounts and convert your pedal assembly to the hydrolic one if you really feel up to it.

I know...when I said they are "interchangeable" I meant that all the bolt patterns on all the D series trannys are the same....if you wanted to you could put any d series tranny onto any d series motor...but you would have to find a way to mount it....sorry for the confusion

If you read carefully...you would have notice that I wrote this in that post...
