im in process of pullin the head off of my h22. ive gotten to the intake manifold and cant decide how to take it out. i want it intact on the head wen i pull that head since it would be much easier. what all would i need to disconnect and how. i saw the fuel lines, but im not sure where to unplug it at. please help.
anything that goes from the itm to anything but the head. its not ness. but you can take the top half of the pleum off to give you more room.
u have to disconnect the whole wire harness/(its faster and easyer this way)just take off all the connectors that attach to the wire harness and lay it on the head leave all the sensors thats attach to the intake manifol plug in
the ones u ill have problems with or forget is o2 sensor connector, speed sensor connector, power steering pressure sensor and the oil pressure switch (the oil pressure switch takes a 7mm socket to remove its not a conector)
bye the way make sure u take off the thermostat houseing u can bend the water pump to thermostat housing pipe if u don t

whats so hard about pulling the four plugs off the injectors, the IACV, the IAT and the EGR? Probably takes all of 5 minutes to do. And then either disconnect the fuel feed hose, or remove the fuel rail and put it aside. And the head is ready to come off. And yeah the thermostat housing is bolted to the head so I would atleast unbolt it off the head, probably no point in pulling it off the water pipe though.
Shouldn't take u too long, I've pulled off a head with my boy jason on RLZ's lawn with the sun beating down on us in 100+ degree weather in about an hr,

Umm are you talking about the Intake Manifold because last time I checked there are like 5-6 nuts on the top and bottom on the IM. Also a bracket that braces it to the block.....
It's not that hard... At least I didnt think it was.........

i don t know about u but i hate fighting with the intake manifold to remove the intake manifold to head bolts /o and u have to do it twice once to remove and second to install/ its alot faster to just disconnect wires
