Accord w/ H22 swap running too rich? Prob?
i have a autometer air/fuel gauge.. i idle last bar rich and when i drive.. it goes all the way to mid bar rich.. and i have heard taht it cant be good for your car
the target is the striometric(spelling i know), 14.7 to 1
but your a/f guage and the narrowband o2 sensor wont give you a truth reading anyways

i know for fact taht i am running rich.. i have a turbo fuel pump .. so i am getting alot more fuel and i burn gas really fast.. my fuel pressure regulator is turned all the way down also.. so w/ me running rich as i am.. is this bad for my car/motor?

if it's a jdm motor, it will burn rich... assumming you are using the jdm p13
it's ok it wont hurt your motor at all, unless your rear bumper is coated black
by your muffler. then you got a problem.. a little rich wont hurt. too rich you
will **** up your rings in time. BTW AF gauges are not consistant.

oh **** i didnt read your post before.... whay are you running a turbo fuel pump?
if your not running a turbo you dont need it.. if you are boosting... @7-9 pounds
you still dont need a fuel pump.. explain more about your set up... you are prob over doing it.

i planned on running nitrous.. so i was told that i would need more fuel.. so i put in a fuel pump.. and that is the main reason i am running so rich.. and u say over time running too rich can blow my rings?

yea if your bumper is super black like i said.. then in time yes your rings will go and you will get blow by.(oil) but your talking maybe a year or two.
if you are running a 255 pump thats way to high. you are going to lose power for daily driving with your pressure being that high. let me guess the lowest you can get your regulator is 50psi.... wich is way to high.. i would take that pump out
and run a FMU on a stock pump. this way when you spray the fmu will dump
the fuel you need, making up for the pump....this way you still have your power for daily driving..

the fuel pump if a 255 lph can be a high pressure or normal pressure unit.
the high pressure requires a good (NOT b&m crap) adjsutable regulator. a normal pressure 255 uses the stock fpr just fine.
what is your fuel pressure currently set at rigihth now?

43psi is not that bad, it's a little rich but nothing to stress,as long as your not 50 psi or higher your in good hands

he's got the same problem i do. fully built, but running the JDM ECU none-the-less. it is black, but not enough to get to the bumper. fuel mileage isn't great, but it isn't the worst either. I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. i just picked up a V-AFC II and i'm hitting the dyno tomorrow...with a Walbro 255HP fuel pump and a B&M FPR. will let you know the outcome and what they say. but like everyone says, there isn't anything detrimental short term, but long term, the rings go and if you're going to shoot N2O, then that will accelerate whatever wear is going on.
i had this problem with my pump, when i first turboed my car.. i couldnt get the pressure under 55psi, switched regulators and even drilled a hole in the diphram
...you need to see what your pressure is

my helm manul states that normal PSI range for fuel pressure in a prelude is 47-54 psi with the vacuum hose disconnected. 43 psi is a good range since its a pretty standard testing pressure for fuel injector flow tests.
btw i runa walbro 255 lph high pressur epump on my civic ahtch with an h22a, and i am at 38 psi at idle....runs great!
