how much slower do you think i'll be going with a d16y8 motor with a dx tranny??

 

Quite a bit. The DX tranny does ~70 mph at 7k in second, the EX does 55 mph at 7k in second. When I put the EX tranny on my HX the difference was far more than I woulda thought.

A DX 5th gear on an EX tranny wouldn't be a bad idea though. Once I get a chance to have my car down for a few days I'm gonna do that.

dont do it, it will suck. id stay with the ex tranny, for boost, N/A or even nitrous

 

DX tranny sucks... Emerika put a DX tranny on his EX motor and went from 15.5 to 16.2 in the quarter

 

yeah really. if you gonna by a d series tranny, ex or si is the only one to consider. its well worth the extra money.
