I wanna put my guages in my center consol, where the lower radio slot, plastic bar, ashtry, ligher and cup holder are. (well, i might keep the cup holder if i can). I also might put my turbo timer and EBC (if i get one) there too. Where would I have something like this made. I really want it to look good and professional. Would an audio place do it? Who else could do it?

u could probably have a machine shop cut one for u out of aluminum, youd just have to supply them with a template.

what i really wanted was something made of black plastic to match the interior. I wanted something solid too. I was hoping to just drop my car off w/ all the guages, tell them where i want them, and they'll make it fit.

I guess I could always try it myself first.

 

u could paint it or cover it with vinyl.

 

good point....really good point. I like that idea a lot.

 

I was think of buying a sheet of carbon fibre...a little expensive but nice to the eyes

 

most audio places could handle that job.

Took out the center vents and heater control panel (moved it to the glove box). We used an Autometer flush mount gauge holder and made a fiberglass housing using that to house the APEXi guages. More custom work done too...

Looks okay, but in my opinion, it makes your car a prime theft target... I mean, what theif would pass up a vehicle with that screen right there and a pair of big-*** gauges, a tach and a shift light? Plus all the stuff you say you have in your side panels...

 

The screen is NEVER in the car. I only throw it in when I know I'm always within eyes view of my car. The airbag is motorized...so the VAFC and AVC-R are never seen if the car is turned off. The only thing you see are the guages...which you would see on any car...so how is that a prime target then? I actually think it's pretty secure since anyone else would have their VAFC and/or AVC-R exposed...when the airbag is down, it looks like a factory dash since the factory air bag cover was utilized.
