Default Inline Fuel Pump & FMU Set up

Is it ok to put the pump after the fuel filter before fuel goes into rail? I'm thinking that it would put to much pressure instantly because it's right there. Do I just install it before the fuel pump.
Where does the FMU go before the rail or after rail hooked to the regulator line the return fuel line?

Default Re: Inline Fuel Pump & FMU Set up (revhrdls)

My pump is right after the fuel filter, before the fuel rail. It works just fine. Understand that pumps do not cause pressure, they provide the ABILITY to have high pressure. The FMU creates a restriction in the return line, which effectively increases the pressure between the pump and the FMU (if the pump can hang with the pressure). Higher fuel pressure at the fuel rail = more injected fuel. From this, you should be able to understand that the FMU must go inline on the fuel return line, after the stock fuel pressure regulator. Make sure to hook up the IN and OUT sides correctly, because it does matter.
