Vane of a Rotor - can someone explain?

What exactly is the vane of a rotor, this has to do with brake ducting..
just wondering if someone had an example, pics would rox0r!

The vanes are the passages inside the rotor that go from the hub to the ousidge edge. They can be directional, meaning they channel air in a particular direction, or just straight.
Most hondas have vaned rotors in the front and solid rotors in the rear.

These are normally just considered "vents", as in ... a vented rotor, as opposed to a solid rotor.
Vanes are normally found in thinks like turbines, pinwheels and the like.
Porsche and Supra rotors are examples of "directionally vented" or what you're referring to "vaned" rotors. Another Ed.
